Luz Mendoza Garcia
Meet Luz, our new AIMS President for 2024-2025! Luz is a dedicated Mid-career MSIM student specializing in PPMC. She’s passionate about management and strategic leadership, with her favorite class being Management and Strategic Leadership taught by Professor Hala. As President, she will oversee all team activities, ensuring they come to life successfully. Her goal is to help AIMS students achieve their personal goals and grow as leaders. Luz is enthusiastic about increasing communication channels and organizing social and networking activities to engage our MSIM community more effectively. When she’s not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, skiing, and dancing. Her favorite cuisine is Mexican, especially spicy Mole. What has been your favorite class and why:
I love Management and strategic leadership Professor Hala provided great guidance and insights. She brought all mid-career students together and fostered an environment of respect and teamwork.
Why did you choose UW:
I admire the work U-Dub does in to foster Justice, diversity and Respect among students.
What does your role of President entail
My role is overseeing all the activities from the team and make sure they become possible.
What is your goal with your role at AIMS:
Help AIMS students achieve their personal goals and grow as leaders.
How will you be there for the MSIM students:
We are currently trying to increase the channels of communication, social and networking activities to engage our MSIM community.
What event are you the most excited for this year:
We have a variety of activities coming up. Stay tuned to our social media.
What is your favorite cuisine:
I love Mexican food. My favorite dish is Mole (the spicy one).
What is your favorite thing to do when not at school:
I love to spend time with my family, play tennis, ski and dance.
If you had to delete all but three apps from your smartphone, which ones would you keep:
I would keep WhatsApp, LinkedIn and TikTok.
